I should be asleep, but Coke Zero is working its way through my veins and I can't sleep.
Korea got a shot in right before the end of its match with France, tying the game at 1-1. Final score. Incroyable.

My wife and daughter logged onto the match in the living room while I blogged on about academic stuff in my study.
I did interrupt that blogging to post a breaking-news report as Korea scored the goal that tied them 1-1.
Against France!
I even broke into an online chant ... but you'll have to go to my blog for that.

France still stands a decent chance of going through. If they manage to whip Togo and score a bunch of goals, they will ensure themselves a place even if there is a three-way tie (which would happen if Korea and Switzerland draw and France and Switzerland both beat Togo--not an unlikely scenario at all). If Korea beat Switzerland, then France will go through behind Korea. If Switzerland beat Korea, then France will go through with Switzerland. (Again, both of these scenarios assume French and Swiss wins against Togo.) So it all comes down to France's final match. But the boys in blue have been getting better and Togo are the red-headed stepchildren of the group. Kind of sucks that Zidane won't be able to play against Togo, though. If France doesn't go through, no more Zidane. To be honest, that would be the only reason I would be sorry to see France eliminated.
